by Solus Energy

A charge carrier is an electron or hole in a semiconductor that is free to move through the material carrying an electric charge. In a solar cell when an electron absorbs the energy from a photon moving the electron into the conduction band thus enabling free movement through the cell’s semiconductor material creating an electric current.
